Introduction to Debian [Hindi]
The talk will serve as an introduction to Debian ecosystem and the community that makes it possible.
How a collection of more than 60000 packages gets updated and released in the biggest GNU/Linux distribution on earth. Who are the people behind it, what they do, why we do it and how to join to contribute in various ways possible. And ofcourse the Debian India community and events would be introduced.
This talk is for folks new to Debian and want to learn more about it while also giving back to the community.
BoF: Digital privacy in Indian context and some Free software tools and services to the rescue [Hindi]
In this BoF we will investigate the attitude of common people towards digital privacy in India. What are these business models that encourage privacy invasion software and services. We’ll discuss how network effect keeps people dependent on these services.
How free software allows freedom to take back control over data in a private manner. How this can be mitigated with the help of Free software and services. We’ll also touch upon what sorts of law will provide us real privacy.
